Just had a biopsy

hi

I had a biopsy on a lump I found in my armpit while I was pregnant. I’ve waited four months for an appointment to have the lump examined (having had my little one 3 months ago) and need to go back on Thursday for the results. I was giving very little information during my initial appointment other than “they are very very concerned” a nurse then said to me that when I come back the man in the corridor will be my consultant. The body language and subtle things that were said to me indicates that I’m not expecting good news. I’m not really sure what to do now? Do I tell people to prepare them for the worst? Has anyone else had to cope with being a new mum and going through this?

  • Hi there ..

Well I wouldn't go by expressions ... we tend to read into them ... but it's always good to just tell those close to you your having a few tests done .. take someone with you, as it's good to have someone there to take everything in with you .. also if you have any questions write them down as it all goes over our heads ... your hormones will be all over the place being a new mum ... it makes it even more scary ..

But try and keep busy as poss .. with a young baby that should be easy ... you will feel lots of emotions .. even us that should be used to the wait for results are pretty scared each time we go ... so your not alone .. fingers crossed for a good result .. let us know how it goes .. Chrissie xx
