colonoscopy

hello i have my colonoscopy. colonscopy report says -- normal colonoscopy--diagnosis constipation predominant IBS. what does it means? follow up says i have rewiev in 6weeks. i got leater from hospital i have apointment21 of august so its 6weeks. so something wrong with results? they dont told me anything. why?

  • Well it means that everything can be treated without invasive procedures.  Your GP will have a copy of the results, so make an appointment and discuss it with them.  Constipation is easily treated with change of diet and IBS is irritable bowel syndrome which can also be treated with medication.  Good luck and when it's sorted you will feel a lot better.  Carol

  • Hi there,

This diagnosis appears to mean that you have irritable bowel syndrome that tends to cause constipation as opposed to diarrhoea.

You GP should be able to offer advice on coping with your condition and you can find information here too

  • I think we've already said to make an appointment, no one else can help you as we are normal people coping with cancer and don't have medical knowledge, so ring your GP and you'll then know what's going on.  Good luck, Carol

  • I couldn’t be entirely sure as to why you have an appointment, it won’t do any harm to call and ask if they can tell you what it’s actually for, especially as it seems to have made you somewhat anxious.

    Best wishes
