Ultrasound Results

Hi,

Since the beginning of the year I have had irregular periods & excruciating cramps 1-2 times a month. I went to the doctor who thought it might be a cyst.

I had a ultrasound on Sunday & the guy said he couldn’t see anything. I also had a pelvic exam & when I asked he just said to book an appointment back with my doctor in a week. So on Monday I booked an appointment & then today I get a letter to say that the doctor wants to see me & that I need to book an appointment within 2-3 weeks.

Should I be worried they’ve seen something from the pelvic exam or not because of the duration for seeing the doctor?

Thanks

It's natural to worry about seeing a Dr for follow up test results, especially when you recieve a letter advising you to do so within a few weeks. It's something that is mentioned here on the forum quite regularly.

However please try to keep in mind that most of these kind of letters are a standard response that are sent out as routine to everyone following on from tests. If there was something more serious to worry about then it's likely that you would have been asked to come sooner or had a phonecall asking you to attend.

I hope that you've been able to get an appointment with your GP and that you don't have to wait too long.

    Best wishes,
