Hi all. Just looking for some advice. 

I went to the dentist on 15th June 2019 for a check up. I  did have a small bump on my lip which she suggested was from trumour of some sort. She also noticed a white patch at the back of my tounge left side underneath. 

She asked me to go back in 3 weeks which I did today and both are still there. She has referred me to the dental hospital but said I won’t hear anything for about two months. I assume this is a good thing as if she was concerned would it not have been quicker. On the other hand she has referred me so should I be concerned. I am a smoker and drink 2-3 times a week.
