Anyone?

I’m hoping somebody could give me some advice, about 6 weeks ago I noticed a rash. I say rash but up close it’s like lots of very small purple/pink veins. It covers the entire bit of my boob almost on my left breast.

I am breastfeeding my 3rd child, I am 25 and the first thing the doctor said was “it looks like mastitis. Come back in a week as your not feeling ill with it if it hasn’t gone. A week later (this was the third week as I’d noticed it a week before) I went back to the doctors and saw a different doctor, she gave me antibiotics and told be to come back when the weeks course was up, I went back as it was still there. They’ve referred me on an urgent refferal to the breast clinic and I’m there in the 18th but I am here looking for answers before I go as I’m just sat here with this taking over my head at the moment.

The rash hasn’t changed, it isn’t itchy, my skin on that breast isn’t any different to the skin on the other that I can see or feel, they look the same, my nipple hasn’t inverted, If it was inflammatory breast cancer, would more things be going on by now?

  • Hi Qwerty2019 and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry about the worries this rash is causing at the moment but you did the right thing by going to your doctor to get it checked.

There have been a few posts by ladies in similar situations so do jump in on any discussions you find when looking through the forum as our community are very kind and supportive and will do what they can to help but hopefully some of them will stop by to chat with you about this on here as well.

In the meantime, try to stay busy if you can and the 18th will be here before you know it.

Fingers crossed the rash isn't any cause for concern.

    All the best,
