Is it lymphoma?

My 80-year old mother, suddenly developed a lump on her neck, left-side, beneath the jaw, on Friday. we consulted a doctor and they said it was most likely to be a lymph gland swelling. that swelling became larger yesterday and hurts when touched. we went to the urgent care center and now the doctor suspects it could be lymphoma and asked us for a biopsy.

she does not have any other symptoms of lymphoma and is stressed out. any suggestions?

  • First please don't panic because there are all sort of possibilities that can cause a a lymph gland to swell. The speed at which this has occured could also be a lymph node stone! or could be an infection.

Where you mum using any UTI medication or has she had any Urine inconsitancy medication like Oxybutynin for long? Because those medicines in long-term can cause her to develope stone.

Also many other Rheumatology based conditions (not necessarily cancer ) can cause this so please ask your doctor that you need a medical consultation of a Rheumatologist too.

Hope nothing serious and best of lucks
