Awaiting results

The consultant I saw at my second colposcopy appointment said that I have borderline changes and described my cell abnormalities as high grade.

I am currently awaiting results from a biopsy.

Does this mean that I will need treatment to remove the cells?

  • Hi,

I had my colposcopy 2 weeks ago today, I had the cells removed immediately and they have been sent for a biopsy which I'm still waiting to hear about.

I assume you would have the cells removed if they are graded as CIN3 (mine were graded as that whilst I was there). The grades just mean how close they are to turning cancerous. If they are lower grade cells they may leave them for 6 months as the cells can change themselves.

My smear also came back with severe dyskaryosis.

Not sure if this has helped but sounds like you're in a similar situation to me.

Hope it's all okay for you x
