on going hysteroscopy results

have waited 6 long weeks for hysteroscopy biopsy results to come back which i had had done i hasten to add  with no anesthetic, to find out just last week that they didnt get enough biopsy so i now have to have it done under general anesthetic which im not looking forward to as i had complications in theatre when i was in having a lumpectomy for breast cancer in jan 2017 so im having it done in 2 weeks time and absolutly dreading it............

  • Hi Helen that's awful...fingers crossed all goes well this time,,,,the waiting is awful isn't it. I had my hysteroscopy 4 weeks ago i callled last week to chase the results and was told that they were in the consultants basket and i would be contacted within a few days and when i called on Thursday they still hadn't been looked at. I'm hoping that means that all is clear because i'd be furious that they are sat around for over a week if not. Take care xx

  • I had exactly the same told to me they said they were in doctors pidgeon hole and my consultant was on holiday so waited another week still hadn’t arrived so rang again to be told now need to go in to hospital, hoping you get your results and everything is ok. X

  • omg so p...ed off right now waiting to go in for hsteroscopy which ive had done once with out anesthetic, new appointment booked for 19 july just rung up to tell me they have to cancel consultant not in or somthing so now rebooked for 30th july to say im so stressed is an understatment.!!!!!!!

  • that is awful, iv got mine CT scan Tuesday 16th and hysteroscopy on Thursday 18th under General, today iv been so bloated wouldn’t mind if I had ate loads but I can’t, back pain and pelvic pain, just seems to be every pain is worse now,  or is it just that I’m focuseing more on the pain, hope everything goes well for you

    x

  • Your situation sounds a lot worse than what I’m moaning about makes me feel crap for moaning about it, I really hope you get sorted soon. X

  • Hi Helen

Ive been waiting nearly 5 weeks for my hysteroscopy biopsy and rang the hospital as Ive had the worse 5 weeks of my life worrying the worst!

I was told by the consultants secretary that he was on holiday and will look at the results next week when he comes back ( 6 weeks)... I’m praying its not bad news as its 6 weeks of delays!

My periods stopped for 13 months ( I’m 56 ) and thought now I can get on with my life post menopausal... then wham bam I had the most awful heavy bright red bleeding  which has been going on now for 8 weeks ... I just wished they had told me that the results would take this long on my discharge from the hospital and maybe I wouldn’t have been worrying so much... I’m thinking it cant be anything bad as surely they would have been in touch by now!

I hope all has been ok with you.

  • hi jasper 12

im so sorry your having so many problems I had my hysteroscopy on Tuesday they said everything had gone ok nothing found in my uterus so just have to wait for biopsy’s to come back don’t know wat happens next, im not on any contraception because I’ve had breast cancer they said I could be menapousal but they said I should have not bled for a year, my last period was February but I don’t know wats going to happen next I’m in limbo and as to were everything goes from here cause they said if I am going through menopause I won’t need contraception but I’m not there yet so I’m not sure wat I’m doing but after reading ur story makes me think I’m no where near what you are going through I’m beginning to think nobody gives a *** it’s just menopause!!!!!

  • hi Helen

i know how frustrating it is, especially the not knowing... I am so pleased that nothing was found in your Uterus and I’m sure your biopsy will be ok, lets hope so!

Whilst I had my hysteroscopy the consultant fitted the Mirena coil to try and reduce the bleeding for now.... He did find a very large fibroid and apparently I have a bulky Uterus ( nothing was explained what that means), this was written on my discharge notes I was given... not sure whether he had removed the fibroid though, as no one spoke to me about it after the biopsy... I feel despondent to be honest, as nobody could of told me how awful I feel at the moment, this not knowing and the waiting, especially being told casually the consultant is on holiday and will look at the results on his return!

I know this sound obvious, but have they tested your hormones to see if your menopausal, you must feel really anxious with all this testing and I must say you were very brave to have the first hysteroscopy done without GA... they tried to take a biopsy from me like that and gave up as I was in so much pain, hence why I had mine under GA, they took quite a bit of my lining away so hopefully something will count for the constant bleeding I’m having!

Let me know how you get on and I will let you know when I get my results back hopefully next week!

  • Hi jasper 12
