Lump on Forearm

I am very worried.  I have noticed my arm not usual shape about 5mths ago, however stress at work etc I never gave it a second thought as gained weight etc.

No I am experiencing pain and aching in my arm and touching the lump makes it ache.

Finally went to my gp last week, who measured it and said its 5x3.  She said its probably a limpoma, however I went Monday 930am at 12pm i had referral to hospital for ultrasound next week.

I am very worried that its liposarcoma or bone cancer or something serious.

I have already been diagnosied with chromophobe renal cell carcinoma in october 2016, that was cured by surgery alone.

I am so scared, I have been googling too much, but my first thought is cancer, either a new cancer or recurrance of kidney cancer but in my arm, seen as i had a biopsy of kidney tumour could have seeded.

Anyone know the probability of forearm lumps hurting/aching that are not malignant?  Or anyone had one of these concnerns?

  • Hi zoemden,

I'm sorry to read about your worries and what you're going through at the moment. It's of course perfectly natural to feel worried and it's especially difficult when there is this uncertainty.

It's good to hear that you've been to see your GP and that you don't have too long to wait for the next appointment - hopefully you'll get some answers soon and then hopefully this will help with next steps and a path forward.

Try to stay away from Google if you can - it's rarely helpful to look online as a lot of the information can be irrelevant or out of date; it's always best to get specialist advice that's personalised to you.

Prior to your appointment next week try to avoid thinking too negatively if you can - I know this is easier said than done - and try to distract yourself and keep yourself busy as much as possible.

Meanwhile if anyone has any similar experience to this then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
