Lump and dimpling on breast

Hi guys,

I’m a 35 year old mum of 3, approx 4 month ago I found a lump on my breast, didn’t go to the GP straight away as I don’t get periods due to contraception so wasn’t sure if it was to do with my cycle. Anyway, I now have 3 dimples on my breast which were not there before, also feel like there has been changes in my breast (if that makes sense) I occasionally get like a stabbing pain but it doesn’t last long and I might not have it for another day or so. Anyone else experienced same symptoms? I have been to see the GP who has done an urgent referral, I’m due to go to the breast clinic next week.

  • Hi Izzysmom,

Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with this health concerns recently. I'm sure it's been a worrying time.

Your GP sounds like they are being proactive in getting you referred to breast clinic which is great. The majority of people who are attend breast clinic aren't diagnosed with any serious problem so please try not to worry too much at this point. There are several different causes for breast lumps to appear that are not cancer but it needs to be assessed properly to be on the safe side.

If you'd like to chat to one of our nurses before your appointment next week you can call them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) and I'm sure they'd be happy to chat things through with you.

Pop back and let us know how you get on at clinic.

    Best wishes,
