I had been experiencing really bad (what I thought to be) PMT, bloating and what felt like really bad trapped wind about 12 days before my period with an incredibly tender abdomen. Then my period would start and would be very heavy! I’ve had the copper IUD for the last 5yrs which gave me heavier periods, so for some time I’ve put it down to that. Pain got worse so I went to the Doctors’s, they gave me a blood test which came back with CA-125 of 60 which I know it’s very high but still scary. They then sent me for a scan yesterday whcih has shown up a large (what they believe to be) fibroid attached to my uterus and also some liquid at the bottom of my pelvis. They’re putting it through to the ovarian cancer gynaecologist as urgent because they want to be thorough, for which I am incredibly grateful for!! They’ve said they wouldn’t be surprised if the raised CA-125 is due to the fibroid but they want to be certain. I’m only 30, soon to be 31 and without children. I’m terrified that it’s going to come back as something sinister, but still trying to stay hopeful that it’s not! 

Has anyone else had something similar and if so I’m interested in what your outcome has been? I know it doesn’t help wondering all of these things, but it’s impossible not to.
