So the last post I made was me waiting on results from my needle biopsy and CT scan that I had done for my enlarged lymph node on the left side of my neck. I was due to receive the results last Monday and went to the hospital to find out what was going on. I was told that the results were actually not back as the haemotologist hadn't yet gone over them to give his opinion, but my doctor believed it was now swaying more towards lymphoma. I then received a call on the Tuesday from my nurse explaining that the biopsy report came back inconclusive, she said that we would have to schedule surgery for a portion of the node to be removed and examined for a proper diagnosis, and we booked this in. I had an appointment the following day with the haemotologist who explained to me that alongside the inconclusive biopsy, the CT scan showed that there was a 7.5cm mass in my chest, I was only told this by the haemotologist. He also told me that at this point it is most likely lymphoma as infections don't show masses in the chest. I was fine with it, because at least its progress and I'm closer to having an official diagnosis.
Since that day I have had my surgical biopsy done on my neck (yesterday) and have spent today recovering. Another appointment with the haemotologist has been booked for a week today so hopefully results will be in by then! Honestly the waiting is the worst, it allows your mind to wander when in reality you don't know much. All I know now is that it is most likely lymphoma and thats where doctors minds are headed. I would just like it to speed up so I can start treatment ASAP.
