Cervical cancer mysteries - what is a calcified lesion

My mother was diagnosed with stage 3a cervical cancer last year. After going through radiotherapy, the tumor shrunk and everything  seemed fine. She went for a 3 month check up and was told that she has a swollen lymph node in the left para ortic region and also a calcified lesion. Did anyone have similar results after their first check up? What is a calcified lesion? Does it mean a tumor? Can it be lymphoma? She took chemo after this and her pet scan is coming up so now I'm back to revisiting the last report and worrying out of my mind. Help !

  • Hi Pls,

You're more than welcome to discuss this with our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040 (Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m) but as your mother's medical team have access to her medical files and history the best thing to do, if you can, is try and get your mother's permission to speak with them privately as this will give you the chance to get these questions, and any others playing on your mind, answered.

Wishing your mum all the best with her pet scan and results when the time comes.

    Kind regards,
