Sorry to hear about your smear results :( 

Although I would have thought that them not being able to see anything  could be a very positive thing :) 

Did they take a biopsy? I had a 'borderline changes' smear and had to have a colposcopy on Tuesday, she said she could see the abnormal cells and had to take a biopsy  so I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Hopefully someone here can shine some light on this for you.

No the Dr said there was nothing there, which is why in so confused about the resukts saying severe dysplasia. 

I was so relieved they hadn’t found anything i think i was in shock and didn’t take it all in.

I had the same smear results as you, went for my colposcopy last Monday and she could see the abnormal cells immediately. They have been removed and sent for a biopsy which im now wait to hear back about.

I have read that it's not uncommon for the cells to have fixed themselves so that may be the case for you. Did they tell you what results you are waiting for? I assume it will be to see if you have the hpv virus, in which case you will just be likely to get abnormal cells again but would be treatable before they turned into cancer as long as you keep up to date with your smears in the future.
