Calcification

I got recalled after a mammogram and was told I had calcification in both Breasts the done a core biopsy and also took a sample from my armpit gland I'm due my results on Thursday and am terrified of the outcome has anyone else had calcification in both breasts and if so what was the outcome

    Hi Dcf - So sorry to hear of your worries. Very often calcifications are harmless but a biopsy is needed to check it out.

    My mammogram showed calcification and after a biopsy I was diagnosed as DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ). This particular cancer is totally contained in the milk duct, is non invasive and not life threatening.

    After a lumpectomy and radiotherapy I am now cured.

    Thank you for replying I had my biopsies done in different areas of both breasts using a ultrasound they have put titanium in so they can pin point where the biopsies were done, the waiting and not knowing are the worst, before I had biopsies done one of my breast were painful and tender.

    I has calcifications in both breasts and had a vacumn biopsy in both breasts. I like [@Irene70]‍ , was diagnosed with high grade DCIS. Understand why you’re scared, hopefully the results will come back clear, if not then it’s an operation to get rid of the little blighters. I felt better once I knew what I was dealing with and when I knew what the treatment plan was.  The waiting is the worst part, try and keep busy to take your mind off things. x
