Neutrophils Low on top of 'Cause for concern'

My original post was with with regards to swollen lymph nodes giving 'cause for concern' after scan.  Yesterday, I had a blood test and a short time ago this evening the GP has phoned to say that my white blood cells are very low and I will be unable to fight off any infection at the moment.  I was trying to think positive since I was told about the 'cause for concern' and this site has been so good in helping me do that.  However, after the GPs call - I am sitting here in tears - especially when he said, again, the scan was 'cause for concern'.  I have an ENT appt first thing Monday morning with the hope they will do a biopsy.  The GP was hoping they would but could not say.  I cannot help but think the worst.  Thank you for listening - writing this is helping me to calm a little.

  • Hello Heddybell,

I just wanted to drop by and wish you the best of luck for tomorrow morning I hope the ENT appointment goes well and that it provides some answers.

Try not to anticipate the worst though you are in good hands with the ENT specialist and I hope you feel a bit better tomorrow after your appointment and that you get a bit more clarity on all this.

Do keep us updated if you get a chance we'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

    Best wishes,

  • Woke up to this this morning.  I wonder if you have any idea Lucie what a boost a little message like this gives to a person?  I think you must - hence you are who you are.  Thank you.  Thank you so much.  I will update you as soon as I am able to. Heddy Bell xxx
