Hi I am 47 year old female and at the end of last year I noticed a dark brown line in my little toe nail. 

I never thought anything if it until I happened to read an article on melanoma and I freaked out. 

I saw a dermatologist in jabuary who said he thought it was melanochyia and to just keep an eye on it. 

By March I noticed another thin line next to it so I went back and asked for a biopsy. The biopsy was done in 15th april and I was told results can take 4 weeks but even up to 6-8 weeks. 

I had heard nothing until today and I’ve received a letter to say I have to go to clinic in 9th August!!

I am now convinced I have melanoma as why else would I have to be seen again? And why haven’t I received my results in the post as I was told. 

I am now freaking out thinking the worst as I’m a mum to very young children and terrified it’s melanoma. 

Can I ask how soon after biopsy did those with melanoma get called into clinic for further tests?
