Other explanations?

I’ve been given an urgent ENT referral for a bad throat I’ve had on and off since February. No bacteria seen, no fever, hoarse voice, sore ears, swollen neck, difficulty swallowing and I’ve had five lots of antibiotics which help for a little while but come back again. Surely there’s something else it could be?

I have two young children and I can’t believe I am posting on here but we are on a family holiday and my husband is snoring away beside me....

I am trying to find out what could be causing this but Dr Google keeps bringing me back here

  • Hi and welcome

First rule never consult Dr Google. He always sends you on a wild goose chase, Seriously although it’s tempting and we’ve all done it,  it isn’t useful other than to scare yourself silly. Not knowing is always hard and we naturally want to know more. However it is advisable to wait until you find out from the medics, I found trying to look at things logically helped. If it is something serious then I’ve done the right thing and have a referral if its nothing I’ve done the right thing and got it checked. Whatever the outcome the right people are involved to sort things out. Try to keep busy and enjoy your holiday. Distraction doing fun things with your family can help. I found when you can’t keep it out of your mind, allow yourself to think but limit the time. It’s hard but it worked for me. And this is a good place to come to write down how you’re feeling because people here know what it’s like.

Im sending a virtual squeeze from my hand to yours,

    Sundial
