Welcome to our forum, Superbear_9 and thank you for posting.
I can appreciate that it must be worrying for you if you don’t feel that your problems are being diagnosed properly. Unfortunately, we cannot help you get a diagnosis. Only a doctor can diagnose you.
If you are unhappy with the way you are being looked after by your current doctor you may want to consider getting a second opinion you can find out more about this here www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../different-doctor-second-opinion .
I hope you find the reassurance you need.
Best wishes,

Hi
Yes I have had this twice. It's a goiter usually.
The first time it was a large cyst wrapped around my thyroid. I had half my thyroid removed. The second time it was multiple cysts plus just generally being swollen for no good reason, and eventually (last August) I had the rest removed. Both times, blood test showed thyroid levels within range.
However often goiters can be left alone or treated differently, it depends what's causing it.
Your GP should refer you for an ultrasound to determine what is causing the swelling.
Yep, I'm going through the same thing now! Don't look on Google as it will tell you the worse case scenario! Looking through this forum will show you that thyroid lumps are common and there's so many reasons and causes for your symptoms.
Have you had a scan? Blood tests all fine?
I had my antibodies checked and it's saying I have antibodies present in low numbers, could it be autoimmune do you think?
My bloods all came back fine - 'satisfactory' is the term used. I'm having an ultrasound scan next week. Have you been referred for a scan?
Sorry I don't know about the antibodies thing. Was this a different test to the blood test?
It's part of the full thyroid check. Not referred for a scan yet but think that will be next.
Okay, make sure you get referred, just as precaution and let us know how you get on.
