Breast lump

hi I recently found a lump in my left breast  I have been  to my doctors who have said that it doesn’t feel like a cancerous lump  it is round/oval  shape  and soft and it moves but my left breast is slightly more swollen so she said she will send  me to the breast clinic to be on the safe side . 

I feel sick with worry I have 4 children and I’m so  scared  I received a letter the day after to go to the breast clinic in 12 days  , my doctor said I should get the results on the day unless they  have to do a biopsy . 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

    I'm sorry to read about your worries. How you're feeling is perfectly natural and understandable - any uncertainties like this can be difficult, as can the waiting for results.

    You're certainly not alone and I know there are others on this forum who have been through something similar. Hopefully they'll be along soon, or alternatively do browse this forum for similar topics if you would find it helpful.

    There is some information here about referral to a specialist and what this means. Ultimately it is good that you've been referred as it means you'll get some answers. Prior to your appointment perhaps try to distract yourself from worrying about it by focusing on other things. I know this is often easier said than done.

    Do keep us posted with how you get on, if you would like to of course. This is a very welcoming community on this forum and I hope you find it useful.

    Thank you so much for the reply I have been browsing the forum for similar  topics :)  I will take a look about the information about referral to a specialist I’m just finding it very hard not to worry . 

    I will defenitely keep you posted on how I get on as I think I’d find it helpful to have people to talk to x
