Inconclusive thyroid lump results

Hi Everyone reading your posts has really help me as received a message today saying they still don’t have a op date for me and it’s already been 5 months since I signed to have my surgery...

I found a lump in November 2018 and things happens very quickly MRI and fine needle biopsy ... saw consultant who said I needed to choose if I wanted the lump removed as results where inconclusive but the lump is 5cm and the scan shows abnormalities which they think is cancerous ... but I was told that this cancer is very easily removed treated etc which I have coped with and except... it’s just I feel I put everything in hold waiting for an op as twice they have said it would only be a few 4-6 week  wait ....and it’s now 5 months after signing for my op and my pre op has expired... So after today’s call I have decided to get in with things and it will happen when it’s meant to....my thyroid is normal and I am only having one half of my thyroid removed ..I do have lots of little noduals on the other side to.... I am a little worried how long it will take me after op to feel ok as I teach and like my husbands says talk far to much but reading your post has helped me realise I’m not on my own and lots of you out there are going through the same .... sending love & strengh to you all xx

  • Hi Michelle,

I'm so sorry to read how long you've been waiting for your surgery. This must be very frustrating but it's great you've decided to take things as they come and fingers crossed your patience and new approach will soon be rewarded with a new date for your op.

I'm really glad reading other experiences has helped you feel less alone Michelle.
