Hi, I found a lump in my right breast & was referred to the breast clinic which I attended my appointment yesterday.
The consultant was absolutely certain the lump is a cyst upon examining me & told me to go for an ultrasound & that she wrote on my notes discharge me straight away as she was so sure.
Went to breast screening for the ultrasound expecting to be told it's a cyst & be on my way however, I was told that it's definitely not a cyst & not fluid filled as the lump is solid & firm & I then had to have a biopsy done.
Told to wait for notes & return to breast clinic to make an appointment with the consultant for next week for the biopsy results.
Went back & saw the consultant again who said she is confident it's a cyst & was quite blaza about it & said you'll be fine so wouldn't worry. I am confused because the ultrasound showed it was not a cyst but a solid lump hence the biopsy. Surely if the consultant hasn't seen the lump with her own eyes she can't be certain!
I am of the attitude of what will be will be, that's not to say I'm not worried cause I am but I can't change anything I was just wondering if any one else has had this kind of experience cause I am confused by the conflicting information?
