Panicking

Hi guys
1st time poster here....
So I’m 33 and was at my routine smear yesterday
After it was done the nurse said she could see a cluster on my cervix and she wanted the doctor to have a look.
The doctor had a look and has referred me to Gynae for a further look and a pelvic ultrasound. I’m panicking so much about this.
My last smear was in 2016 which had low grade changes and I got it repeated which was then clear again.
What could this be.....anybody ever experience this or have this noticed during a smear

ive been suffering a few months now with pain in my coccyx bone and lower back and was given anti inflammatory meds which done nothing I don’t know now if this is related

Thanks in advance for your replies ️

  • Hi emiLisa...

Welcome to our little chat room...

I wish I knew an answer for you ... but think you'll have to wait for results of your smear test ... as wer not medically qualified,  just people with cancer or caring for someone with cancer...  but please don't panic too much and l know the wait for results are tough ...

But we've all been there .. and it doesn't get easier ... but try to keep busy... do anything to take your mind off of things ... yes I know that's hard ... but fingers crossed for a good result ... Chrissie x

  • Hi EmiLisa - yes easy to panic and then think of every bump, cough, symptom or bruise and if it's related. You never know, but you're young and women are only getting smears every 3 years now anyway because cell changes are so miniscule - so you've done the right thing by keeping up to date. (Many women don't even go!!)

I've/friends have had similar being recommended for ultrasounds etc. to investigate different things and thank God all has been fine.

    Do something fun!

And don't read anything! Takes you down a rabbit hole.
