I had the same thing a couple of years ago, and funnily enough me and tonsillitis seem to go hand in hand. I had tests done and in the end it was just a swollen lymph node that never went back down after being ill.

It’s more than likely a lymph node that has reacted to you being run down. Mines still the same size it was two years ago, but it’s completely harmless. It’s completely understandable that you are concerned though, I hope everything goes well for you! x

ive been back to the GP and they are repeating blood tests due to High inflammation and booked me a scan of the lump. Tonsils are still huge not showing any sign of going down after 3 weeks and a course of pencilin.

not really sure what to think at this point just a lot of waiting around unfortunately!

I don't suppose you found out what it was. I have had a lump under my chin for about a month. I went to the doctors last week and am now waiting on an appointment at the hospital for a scan. I was told it could take up to a month.(hopefully not) I've just noticed i have now two movable lumps under my chin and am even more concerned.

It's typical really I usually am an hypocrite and go to the doctors about anything but with the coronavirus around I hadn't till recently. I have had white spots on my tonsils but not a sore throat. I also have had a lot of saliva, sort of like I constantly had something stuck in my throat. I have got a sort of bump inside my ear that feels tender to touch which is swollen so hope it's just an infection.

also how long did it take for your results to come back? Thank you x

Hi @court1992, yes so I had an ultrasound on the 18th of March they said it's just my lymph nodes are swollen & my body is fighting an infection which could have been to do with my teeth etc, so that's completely normal for them to be raised.(doing what it's suppose to) Anyway we went into lock down afew days after this so couldn't get to my dentist.

But recently I got my bloods taken for a load of different things because they are still very much swollen & because I had a growth in my month, but my bloods came back all fine. & the scan was normal. 
 

 so now I've had to send photos to my dentist who then got me in for an emergency appointment for the growth inside my month, I have a biopsy on the 25th of August,I would say if you have any lumps or anything your not sure on just get yourself checked just to be on the safe side. Not everyone is the same.

Glad to hear your getting it looked at I found a pea size lump under my chin around 6 months ago now that doesn’t move and I’d hard .. went to my doctors In June and she felt it and said doesn’t feel sincere and done some bloods that came back fine... I’ve got an appointment today to see if my doctor will send me for a scan xx

Hey, yeah it's good to just get it done even if it's nothing. I would personally say to your doctor you request a scan. I had to request a full lot of bloods. I don't know about you but I get anxiety even if I'm told it's nothing! untill im sure I won't feel good about it, good luck today let us know xx

All that came back from my bloods was that my ion levels was slightly low xx

I'm glad it wasn't serious and thanks for replying . I'm really nervous about ultra sound xxx
