What does BC pain feel like?

Hello

I really don't know where to start. I've been getting pains in my breast for about 4-5 weeks. I've been to the GP and he has referred me to the breast clinic. I've always had lumpy breasts and can't feel much of a difference between now and a month or more ago. It's the pain that I'm worried most about. I know it's not period related. I'm 43

I don't wish to cause upset by asking this but if anyone could share their experiences with breast cancer pain I would be greatful.

Does the pain come and go or is it constant?

What is the pain like? is it sharp or burning? heavy or aching maybe?

Is the pain located in one place or do you feel it i other areas? eg armpit or back?

Thank you to anyone who replies

  • Hi there ...

I don't think there's a "normal pain" indicator for breast cancer ... l had no pain ... others do feel things .. but I've heard a lot of different feelings in others ...

So I wouldn't go too much about pain ... it will feel scary ... but try to hang on, as 8.5 out of ten lumps are benign.... so the odds are good ... my first four call backs from mamorgrams were all clear...

It's a tad like asking what Labour is like when having a baby ... everyone's expierance is different ...

But fingers crossed for a good result ... and don't over think the refural... they try to get all lumps seen quickly as poss ...  Chrissie x

  • Hi Chrissie

Thank you for the reply, I did think it would be different for everyone.

I just don't do well not knowing and waiting.

    Thanks again x
