Really need advice please

so I have been having ear pain in one ear for the last 6 months finally went to the gp because I can feel a swelling on the same side at the bottom of my neck gp said she couldn’t feel anything but my ear is very red inside she is sending me for a scan on my neck because I insisted but I am so worried that I have cancer I cannot sleep I keep feeling my neck I just feel lost

    Welcome to the forum.

    I'm not medicaly trained but sounds like a middle ear infection.

    I've suffered from this complaint since I was a child a cource of antibiotics/drops should clear it.

    An infection did give me a sore neck.

    Try not to worry you did the right thing seeing your GP.

    Fingers crossed you are all clear.

    thank you for your reply my ear pain in on and off and it’s been like this since last year it’s never been painful enough for painkillers but after finding the swelling at the bottom of my neck on the Sam side I thought I better get it checked like I say the doctor said she couldn’t feel anything but I said yes it’s there so I am just waiting for the scan but I have bad anxiety and I think the worst all the time as I have developed a cough as well I think well I definitely must be bad
