Hi everyone.

I am new to the page.

So I went to the doctor about 3 months ago with bleeding in between periods and some pelvic pain every now and then. I have always had heavy periods so I never thought much about it. They would be so heavy that some times I could not leave the house and I'd go throw a pad in 20 mins.

The doctor referred me for a pelvic scan where they found a large growth on overies as well as having a split uterus. One side is blocked. My ca125 blood test was very high also at 179.

I was then referered for an MRI scan last Wednesday and when it was over I was told that the results would be sent to my own gp within a week or two.

Today I received a text message to go in and see my consultant at 8.30am on Thursday morning.

So I am kinda of worried now that he wants to see me and why the results weren't given to me by my gp.

Guess what I'm trying to ask is is it normal for the consultant to want to see you. And if there was something very bad wrong would I have not been kept in or contacted sooner.

Any advice would be great

  • Welcome to our forum, mlen.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, it sounds like a rather stressful period you went through.

As I noticed no one replied to your post yet I just wanted to stop by and ask how did your appointment yesterday go? I hope it went fine and that you got good news, but if you ever feel like you need to come back and chat with us we're always here to listen.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi

Thanks for your reply. I went to see the consultation, and he said from the MRI scan that it looks like Endrometrosis, however he needs to remove the cysts and do a biopsy on them ( both 9cm each) to be a 100 percent sure.

I'm having the surgery on the 12th of June.

I am very nervous as I've heard the recovery time is long and the pain after it is terrible. I also heard that I should cut out smoking as it could effect my surgery and cause infection. Or cause problems under anistectic ... I've already cut down to two a day. But full of anxiety about it all.

Anyone else have to go throw this.

    Let me know.

    Thanks again

  • Hi there. I appreciate it's been a while since you're experience but I I just wondered how you got on and what your symptoms were? I'm going through a similar kind of thing at the minute and I'm terrified.
