Hi everyone I had a biopsy done last week and he said to call back in 3 weeks but I really want to call and check. Has anybody else called early and got results back?
You don't say what type of biopsy and who did it (consultant or GP). Histology departments are getting busier and results are taking longer to come back. Also, if it comes back positive for cancer the consultant will arrange a MDT (Multi Disciplinary Meeting) with their colleagues first to decide on the plan of treatment before giving you the results. All this takes time so 3 weeks is actually a short time (most patients are being given 4 to 6 weeks for results).
I know it's very hard and stressful but calling after a week will not give you an answer. If it were me I would wait until after the 2 week mark and cross my fingers they are back. Good luck,
Hi thanks for replying and your advice, I had a womb biopsy done as I’ve had excessive bleeding for 16 weeks, I will wait the 3 weeks and keep my fingers crossed!
