Hi everyone.
Im posting on behalf of my mum, who had a tongue biopsy (and removal) at the same time last week. She noticed a very small white patch in the centre of her tongue, went to the GP who referred her to see ENT. As this wait would take a while; she decided to go private. The private surgeon said to her he doesn’t think it looks nasty, but will remove it to see. He removed it under local and it was half the size of a small finger nail. He did not see anything suspicious under it as it had no roots growing into other parts of the tongue. We are now awaiting results and I can’t stop panicking, as my mum is so anxious over this. She is fearing the worst.
What is everyone’s experience of a surgeon/consultant saying that he/she doesn’t believe it’s anything serious?? I’m trying to remember his words but I keep ruminating; thinking of the worst case scenario!!
Thanks everyone. X
