I had a phone call 1 week after my biopsies to say the results were not ready, they wanted a second opinion, they phoned me eight days later to say that I was a B4(probably cancer), but they had sent the biopsies to Nottingham for the experts to look at them, I was told I would be contacted 10 days later, week commencing 20th May, I phoned on 22nd May and was told that the nurse that was dealing with me was on the sick, after checking my file, I was told that they wanted another opinion as the slide was inconclusive and the pathologists don't meet to discuss now for another week, so I have to wait another week to hopefully hear from them. Now what I don't know I am starting to make up as I am thinking is this cancer growing and getting worse with all this time passing. I think if I was wealthy or Royalty they would of had as many Pathologists as was possible looking at the same time. I have never been so drained and stressed in my whole life and I am 58, surely this can not be normal practise?
It sounds like it's been a frustrating time for you the last few weeks and I'm not surprised that you're feeling so drained and stressed. The "not knowing" is such a hard period of time and it's natural for your mind to fear the worst.
You mentioned that you were told the team wouldn't be meeting for another week. Did they give you a time frame for when you should expect a call? Hopefully once this team have looked at your results they'll be able to give you some firm answers to your questions.
