I am so worried .bleeding stopped after about 4 to 5 days . Has anyone been through this I am so worried at the moment thanks

  • Hi Catjam,

I was like you and googling everything I could and got myself into a right state before my ultrasound. I was the last appointment of the day with the consultant after the scan and it was too late to have the hysteroscopy so I had to go back a week later. I was offered to have it done day surgery with a general anaesthetic but I opted to have it done in the clinic. It's over really quickly and honestly just a bit uncomfortable. I had 2 nurses either side who were lovely at distracting me. Try not to tense, easier said than done I know, but it definitely will help.

Took 4 weeks to get my results but finally got them today and all normal. I do think it could be linked to the vaccine as my bleeding was 10 weeks after the jab.
hope all goes well for you and there's plenty of support here if you need it xx

  • Forgot to say. if someone hasn't already mentioned it, take some ibuprofen an hour before you go and that will help as well xx

  • Hi well ... just about managed to cope had ultrasound and  internal scan which showed womb thickness of 7mm so had to have a womb biopsy got to wait upto 6 weeks for results still very worried xx

  • Hi

After 2 weeks and 2 days I'd had enough and called the hospital on Friday (23 July).

A letter was sent to me on 13 July. Nope. Not recieved. I have been waiting on the letter box, feeling sick every time the postman/woman arrives. "Well, I can read it out" the lady on the phone  says.

The biopsy (I have 7mm thickness) showed normal cells. I am discharged back to my GP

So, so grateful that I am lucky and this is the best, best news, but really? Was a letter sent on the 13th? Interestingly, I finally received it in the post this morning (Saturday 24th). Hmmm

I really hope your biopsy is clear this time and you too can be discharged xxx .

To everyone who is waiting - do call and ask if you are concerned about delays. Also sending lots and lots of hugs for everyone still going through investigations and treatment

  • Sorry not replyed sooner but im going out of my mind also been refered to urologist but hey had no appoitments so had to ring them 22nd to be told someone will look at what my dr as sent them but this could take 3 weeks and then i should get an appointment this as already been going on for a month now ive had no more spotting but the last two days noticed a bit of blood on tissue after bowl movement . so scared lost a stone in weight as im haveing to force my self to eat small amounts to keep me going just carnt eat when im this worried.

how are you getting on did you have your scan .

  • Hi, I hope you don't mind my jumping in here but just read your post and very similar to me.  13 months after what I thought was my last period I had a really heavy one out of the blue.  Not normal for me as my periods had always been light.  Coincidentally it was 2 weeks after my second AZ Covid jab and it's been suggested this may be a cause????.  GP referred me on an urgent 2 week referral for ultrasound.  Waited 6 weeks for it due to Covid delays.  Had it today (vaginal).  Radiographer said nothing stood out but lining of uterus was thickened.  He didn't seem too concerned.  Still waiting to see Gynaecologist.  Don't know if they will do a hysteroscapy but im really worried about it.  I've had 3 kids but all c sections so having this done at an outpatient clinic may be pretty uncomfortable. What a wimp!  I've had no other bleeding or spotting, just the once which lasted a week.  Im thinking it could have been one last go before full menopause????  W x

  • Hi ladies,

sorry to read all your posts about having these worrying post menopausal bleeds.  I have been through similar experience a few months ago (6 weeks after my first AZ jab).  I too had thickening of endometrium (7mm) and was referred for hysteroscopy/biopsy.  All came back clear thankfully but it was an awfully worrying time, and would seem very much connected with having the Covid jab, as so many women are reporting exactly same experiences.  If you think your 'bleeds' could be connected to the jab too, then you should report it on the 'yellow card reporting system' to Astra Zeneca.  Occurrences of post menopausal bleeding needs listing as a possible side effect!

Take care all of you.  Xx

  • I'm hearing  about this  bleeding after the AZ jab quote a bit.  I was really shocked when this was suggested to me and I've reported it on the yellow card system at the time.  It really is baffling.  It is a worrying time as you say and it looks like we will have to go through the quite invasive  tests to check it all out anyway.  I've been told we can't presume the AZ was the cause and it just could be coincidental.  I'm trying to stay positive.  Covid delays and IT issues in the bookings department at my local hospital certainly haven't helped.   Good luck to anyone waiting x

  • Hi I'm 47, and 19 months post menapausal,2 weeks ago I started bleeding lasted 2 weeks on and off, along with that ongoing constant bloating (24/7) and cramps,I have had internal and external scans, and waiting for my hysteroscopy in a week,I am really worried and trying to put a brave face on for my family,I lost my mum at 51 to ovarian cancer,

  • I've had similar episodes for 15 months now plus swollen breasts, headaches, pmt  (menopausal over 2 years when this first started). I've had repeated scans, biopsies and two hysteroscopies where a polyp was removed on the first occasion but nothing else suspicious identified except a small simple cyst that has fluctuated in size. Nonetheless the bleeding keeps recurring. I've had Ca125 blood tests twice to help screen for ovarian cancer but reading was very low on both occasions. Blood tests have confirmed menopause but also, despite atrophy, higher natural oestradiol levels than anticipated and that without ever being on HRT or obese. Consultant suspects hormonal ovarian activity but is unhappy and I see him again in September. The constant worry is awful and has done nothing for my blood pressure. I seem to be a bit of a one off (the ovaries apparently are known to have a last blast after a 1-2 year pause; repeated regular incidents are not so common) but I just wanted to reassure you that you are not alone, as you will see from this site and if you have regular recurrences there's me. I do hope you get a quick solution.
