  • Thank you Flo25 x

It was interesting to read about the vaccine theory as well as I had Astra Zeneca on 20th March and I'm having my second one later today, before the bbq! Have you followed that up at all? I'll mention it at my appointment.
hope you get some good news this week xx

  • I didn't mention it at my appointment. It wasn't until after my appointment that I hear of the theory.

    Keep in touch x

  • Hi

i am 49 had my last period a year ago. The day after my second Astra Zeneca jab I had very light spotting. Phoned my GP and have been referred for an ultra sound. Have to wait three working days before I can ring and book it. Very scared, though reading everyone's posts has been helpful.  Just wondering if it is too coincidental with the jab. I've registered my side effects on Yellow. I don't have any other symptoms. Wish I did feel like it was a period as it would help explain it but really don't feel any different.

  • Hi bc5,

I haven't had any other symptoms either except over the last week I have found myself imagining I feel like I've got a dragging feeling. I keep telling myself to try and get into a more positive mind place. Also I do need to wee a lot and if we go anywhere I need to plan around loo breaks but now I'm worrying that could be related to this problem rafher than an age thing - see thinking too much

hope you can get your ultrasound booked soon. Everyone says that the waiting is the worst time and they're not wrong! I know that until I've had my appointment on the 15th it's not far from my mind, but it's really helping me knowing I'm not alone

  • I feel a little like I have cystitis. Not sure if this is just psychosomatic since being told I need a scan! Felt fine before!

Hi Flo and other ladies who have recently posted.  It is very helpful to share experiences I agree.  I'm same as Flo, had hysteroscopy procedure (following an ultrasound which had showed endometrium was slightly thickened) - still waiting for biopsy results.  It's interesting that we're all having similar symptoms post Covid jab.  I wonder just how many women are experiencing same thing ?
Whether it's related or not, I'm still suffering with constipation & painful abdominal bloating and back ache, which is really getting me down now , so had to phone the surgery again this week about that!  I never normally need the doctors - now that's twice in the last month.  The GP who phoned me back was really unhelpful and quite dismissive during phone consult. (Different GP to one who referred me to Gynaecologist after the bleed). He prescribed some laxatives and said to try those for a couple of weeks.  I wanted him to actually examine my abdomen as I'm now worried I might have an impaction, it's so uncomfortable, and I never get constipated like this. I wonder though if I'm just overly worrying and getting myself stressed out coz of the bleeding etc, which won't be helping the constipation.  I'm not in any way an anti-vaxer but I have to say I was feeling perfectly fine before I had the jab. Now, since the bleeding, I feel like I'm being paranoid something terrible is wrong with me.

  • Hi Flo,

Know what you mean re keeping busy, I'm actually looking forward to getting back to work tomoz after half term. We should get our results this week - the next envelope will be it hopefully.
Hope you're ok after your 2nd jab today and don't feel too bad with it. Be interesting to see if you experience another bleed in next few weeks - hopefully not .
    Bye for now...  xx

  • Hi Ladies,

Just reading post as like yourselves I am totally bewildered to have a post menopause bleed.  I have also had my first Covid vaccine (Pfizer) 8 weeks ago yesterday which is when I had my first signs of bleeding....

My last period stopped in 2017 when I turned 50 and as already mentioned I had my first bleed yesterday, it was more like spotting when I wiped myself.  Like most of us I panicked and went on to different website including the NHS website which advise if you have post menopausal bleed to contact GP.  So, I phoned the doctors and was told by a very rude doctors receptionist that I would have to wait until July 6th to speak to a doctor and it's up to me if I think my reason for wanting to see a doctor is urgent or not, but if I phone tomorrow morning at 8.30am for an emergency appointment and the doctor thinks I've wasted their time I could be removed from the doctors surgery - being spoken to like that whilst worried sick has upset me so much and believe me I'm a tough cookie to crack.
I have decided I will be phoning first thing for an emergency appointment and not wait until July 6th, especially as I lost my mum to ovarian cancer when she was 61 years and since speaking to the receptionist I've found I've started bleeding more and sort of getting period pains like I use to get before menopause.

However, on a positive note reading all your comments has put my mind at ease.  Let's hope it's vaccine related for all of us or nothing to untoward.

    xx

  • Hi there, aren't doctors receptionists great!!! NOT!  persevere tomorrow but if you can't get to speak to a doctor, phone 111.  It's very important, specially with your history, to get things seen to.  I was lucky and my Dr got me to hospital within three days and God willing, next month after a third clear biopsy, I'll be discharged.  Don't be fobbed off.  Good luck x

  • Hi Caf,

I agree with Vulcan, you def need to persevere and insist on having an appointment at earliest opportunity.  Having a post menopausal bleed (coupled with your mum's history) should def enable you to be referred to a gynaecologist on the 2-week fast track process.  That's what my GP did.  I then had a vaginal ultrasound, appointment with consultant + a hysteroscopy procedure with biopsies taken all within 2 weeks - it was great service and treatment should be the same for you, no matter what the receptionist said to you.  I actually received my biopsy results yesterday afternoon (in just 3 weeks from phoning my GP) and they've come back clear with no indication of any cancerous cells present.  Such a relief to see that in writing!!
It would seem there are a number of similar cases post Covid jab, but you can't be sure every bleeding occurrence is just down to that.  NHS guidance still remains that ANY post menopausal bleeding should be reported and investigated.
Hope you do get an appointment soon - keep in touch.  Xx
