  • Hi there, I've been reading recent posts and I too had a cancer scare last year.  From phoning my GP to appt at hospital was two days.  Hystroscopy (ouch) and being told endometrial hyperplasia was my condition, was a huge shock.  Ladies, they know what they're doing and the speed is normal.  Us ladies are fast tracked through because it could be serious but even if it is, they can do wonderful things if you're seen early enough.  I have.  one more hystroscopy to go and hopefully I'll get the all clear.  May I wish you all the very best and keep chatting, it really does help.

  • Hi

sorry to hear your diagnosis also it’s a bit surreal don’t you think I had my hysterectomy done 4.5 wks ago so I was actually thinking I did not have it when I got phone call yesterday to go in today my gut told me it was cancer so I had a mini breakdown yesterday now I feel quite calm. I can’t get the MRI due to me having a metal heart valve yep I had open heart surgery so been through a lot before this so they are booking another type of scan then going to get my heart all checked due to valve to make sure I can go through the surgery. Did they tell you what stage your on ? Don’t let your mind play tricks hun endometrial cancer is slow acting your lucky to be getting these things done quick. Are you getting a full hysterectomy? Remember you have cancer but you will kick it’s *** if you need to chat I am here anytime.

  • Hi

Glad you did not have cancer. When they told me today I have cancer it was a shock but I know they are the best people & I am in good hands.

  • Hi Murf

yes shock is definately the word. Next thing is a scan then my heart checked as have metal heart valve then everything removed when they do the surgery they may decide to remove lymph nodes if the cancer is contained in that area then great if not then radiotherapy or chemo. The waiting was the worst bit so far I have my Everyone on here will be ok x

  • I am so sorry to hear your news. That's going to take a bit of processing.

In your original post you said you had a hysteroscopy, but you did say what prompted this. What symptoms did you have that resulted in going for it?

What happens next for you now? Thanks so much for sharing.  Here for you. Stay strong

  • Sorry honey, just noticing what you've replied to others.

Take care, stay positive, we're all here for you x

  • Thank you going to speak to my doctor today as I didn't take in much yesterday from the call from the hospital.Just need to know how they will deal with it I will keep in touch and best of luck with your treatment.

  • Hi

This is start to finish lol before being told I had cancer.

April 2020 breathless and dizzy many tests done on lungs nothing showed skip to October Dr decided should do full blood count. My haemoglobin was so slow ended up with 3 blood transfusions it was then Drs decided I must have an internal bleed so was put on 2 wk cancer pathway. Went through bowel tests precancerous growth removed. Had 2 occasions of blood on toilet roll. The next test was scan I had a thickening of lining of womb 12 so hysteroscopy was booked 4.5wks ago a biopsy was taken from womb a polyp was also found they could not remove it as I take warfarin hence just biopsy. Skip 4.5wks I receive call from hospital to go in yest and that is when told Cancer they would normally do an MRI but can’t do it as I have a mechanical heart valve (5yrs ago went through open heart surgery) so they are arranging another scan. Then getting heart scans to make sure ok for the operation then from there decide if chemo required. my feelings are you could crack up go to pieces etc but don’t it won’t help try be strong say you will beat it I know because that’s what I will do just like I did previous with my heart. If you need to know about the tests anything just ask me. Trust me the waiting is the worst bit you get the diagnosis. And then you must deal with it.

  • Hi

I hope you got on ok with Doc it’s difficult but stay positive like me you will beat this Keep me updated please

  • Hi Flo25

Got my appointment date with consultant gynaecologist on 24th May to discuss results of internal scan last week.  Been told I may have a hysteroscopy procedure at same time.  Like you, just waiting now to see what they think caused the bleed ??  Have you had a scan or anything done yet?  Xx
