lack of information about time scales

Hi I visited my GP on 23rd April because I had an implant in place and hadn't menstruated for 16 years but 2 months ago started having pink watery discharge every day. She referred me on 2 wk waiting list and I had an appointment with gyneacologist one week later. colposcopy found a small cervical polyp which they removed and referred me for a transvaginal ultrasound. I had a letter on friday saying that the polyp had no cancerous or precancerous cells which was great and then at the ultrasound they said I had a very small fibroid which wouldn't be causing any problems and an area of thickening at the top of the uterus. I believe that it is unlikely to be hyperplasia with an implant in place so preparing myself for the worst really. The radiographer has referred me back to the gynaecologist so I'm hoping that I don't have to wait too long but I wondered when I was likely to have the hysteroscopy and biopsies? Work are being very understanding so far but I think my poor co workers having to cover for appts is going to wear thin.

Sorry my post is soooo long Just needed to off load.

  • Hi Karen,

No need to apologise as this is what the forum is for :)

I'm not sure if you've seen the reply one of our nurses made to your other post earlier today but if not I'll create a link to it just here. I hope what they've said has helped and I'll have my fingers crossed you won't be waiting too long to have your hysteroscopy and biopsies done.

    Kind regards,

  • Thank you for your reply. I'm a little less anxious today. I managed to speak to colposcopy unit that do the hysteroscopy and the co-ordinator is off until tomorrow so I should hear in the next few days.

I have only been with my current employer since January and they have been supportive so far but I don't think that they'll keep me if I need treatment as still on probation.

There's not much we can do either way so trying to keep my chin up while I wait.

    Thanks again :)
