Hi I am a 41 female - over the past few months I have had so much pain in my tummy - a lot of bottom right side but has move to centre and left. I have either constipation or diarrhea and constant wind and gurgling tummy. CT scan, ultrasound and bloods good. was due colonoscopy but had reaction to bowel prep so it could not go ahead - now faecal calprotectin test has come back - normally should be max 60 but mine is 205 - worried sick - does this indicate cancer? thanks for listening

    Hello fionamichelle; me again!  We who post here regularly do not have medical training and so are not really in a position to answer your question.  As I mentioned in your identical post (to the nurses) you will have to wait until the nurses return on Monday.  I realise you are stressed and worried but just wanted to say that you are not being ignored!  Whatever else you do try not to look up your symptoms on the internet; we say here that Dr Google is the main source of unfounded worry around!  Annie (again)

    The nurses would be helpful on monday 

    However, my last fecal calprotectin was 89 which is over the max and my gastro consultant thinks that this is inflmmation as appossed to cancer. This test is generally used for signs of inflmation but as far as i know the only ways to rule out cancer for sure is a colonoscopy so hopefully the next time they can give you something else or give you a scan instead to rule it out for you. 

    Its so worrying when bloods come back higher than they should, im under investgation for blood cancers at the moment and keep stressing ! Is there anyone you can talk to about everything?
