Hi, I'm new here. In February I had my first colonoscopy aged 47. They found a 3cm polyp. They said it didn't look sinister, took biopsies and said it would have to come out in case it turned cancerous. Those biopsies were all benign. I had the polyp removed this week. Surgeon said he was happy that he got it all and also said that he burned away any 'rough edges', and used 5 clips. Now I am becoming anxious waiting for the whole polyp to be analysed. How likely is it that There is cancer inside? Is it a good sign that if so that it was encapsulated by benign tissue (I.e. the initial biopsies). Has anyone been through a similar experience?
(Isn't the waiting just awful)
Thanks
