Found a lump

im 29 years old and have a 5 month old daughter. I found a lump in my left breast 2 weeks ago, and have my appt at the breast clinic on Monday. I’m so afraid, I’ve pretty much convinced myself it’s cancer. Is anyone else in the same situation?

  • Jordan, that must have been a huge relief for you. Well done for pushing for testing of the tissue.

    How are you feeling? Exhausted?

    Claire

  • just extremely lucky, although I won’t know 100% until the results come back. But I feel relieved that he was so convinced he wasn’t even going to test it. I think they thought I was crazy. I was polite but firm, I just can’t take any chances, i need to be here for my baby. You have all kept me a little bit more sane the last weeks, so Thankyou so much. Xx

  • Well done! I’ll remember for polite but firm request if needed tomorrow. I wouldn’t thought to push but you’re right.

Have a lovely cuddle with the little and a good night sleep!

    Hi Jordan,

I'm glad that you insisted on getting your fluid tested, although I sincerely hope that your doctor is correct.

I shall have my fingers crossed for you next Tuesday. Please let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thankyou claire. I had to push quite hard, but I am glad that I did. I told them that if they wouldn’t do it, I wanted my sample back so I could go privately and get it tested. That’s when they agreed to do it. Honestly I think she seemed very annoyed, but I had to for my own sanity. So if you feel unsure or not completely convinced please ask them to test further and they will. You deserve the peace of mind, as it’s so awful thinking all these scary thoughts. Xx and please let me know how u get on tomorrow. I’ll be thinking of you and have got everything crossed x

  • he threw the drained fluid away. And said it was nothing, so then took the tissue samples as I said I wasn’t happy that he wasn’t doing a conclusive test. Will they still be able to tell from the tissue samples? Xx

  • Hi , I have Been diagnosed on the 17.05.19

it took 14 days for the results of my biopsy to come through, however my doctor might hold on the redo because few more issues is going on answer they need more tests . Ihad second mammogram done on the 17.05 as well as have been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer , and have been given approximate date for an operation

But I know nothing about cancer and treatments and kind of have been left on my own in the minwhile .

I am not a doctor, but I believe that they should still be able to tell from your tissue samples.

    Hi Yulianew,

    Welcome to our forum.

I can understand how you feel ignorant of cancer and treatments and, you have been left on your own meanwile. There are so many different types, grades and stages of cancer, that there is really no advantage of talking about treatments, until you know exactly what you are dealing with. Your consultant will discuss this after you get the results of further tests.

I sincerely hope that your additional tests don't find anything more. Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
