referral to breast clinic. worried sick!!

yhi, just looking for reassurance really.  Basically i’m 28 years old and for the last month i’ve been getting blood stained discharge from my right nipple. i cant see where it is coming from but it’s on my bra daily. has anyone else had this? ive  been to my gp and she’s refered me to the breast clinic this was two weeks ago but i’m yet to have recieved an appointment. How long did the referral to breast clinic take for you? should i have heard by now? ive family history of breast cancer in the family with my mum being diagnosed with breast cancer at 32.

ive been through genetic testing which came back as slightly higher risk of having breast cancer  Basically im just really worried right now and the fact i haven’t had an appointment is stressing me out. i cant talk to family as i don’t want to stress them out as my mum back last year got diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer  and i can’t put stress on her

  • Hi, I'm in a similiar situation to you although I found a lump.  My gp asked me to contact him if I hadn't heard in a week so yesterday I called him and he contacted them.  I had a call today to make an appointment but it wasn't until the 10th June,  informed my gp who asked me to go back to see him this afternoon, I had another examination and he has contacted them again today and told them that he wants me seen urgently now xx I started a thread earlier and another lovely lady has been messaging me today who is in the same boat, please come and chat with us , we both understand how terrifying the wait is and we have been helping each other today xxx can't remember what I called it ....something like waiting for breast clinic appt! It would be nice if you felt that you could chat with us xxxxx

  • Hi Morgan12,

I can't imagine the feelings you must be going through right now. I can't really answer any of your questions, but I just wanted to offer support.

I'm not sure how long it would take for a referral. Are you able to call them and see if an appointment has been made for you? I remember when my dad was first diagnosed with stage 4 cancer he had a number of appointments that he had to go to, and there were a couple times where they had forgotten to call him or they had mixed up the appointments. I'm sorry I can't be of much help with advice for you. I hope that you're going to be okay, and please keep us updated.

    Take care.
