endometrium problem

Hi everyone I'm new here so please bare with me.

I missed a period in December  12/12/2018 (not pregnant)

Then in January 4/1/2019 I started bleeding that went on for 3 months I went to the doctor's and she gave me a tablet to stop bleeding.

Had a smear booked in and the nurse couldn't do it as I had a massive lump over my cervix. She called the doctor in who had a look and sent a letter to gynaecology for me to be seen. The doctor the next day decided to fast track it but there was no appointments so it was booked for the 3rd of July 2019

I then had to have a pelvis transvaginal scan last Tuesday 29/04/2019 I had that done at 10 am at 1 pm results was back and my doctor phoned me to say she had sent a letter to gynaecology to say that I need an emergency appointment and would get it in 2 weeks.

Yesterday 8/5/2019 I phoned up to see what was going on to now be told that the gynecologist has now booked in to see me on the 30th July. I went to my doctor's today to get a copy of the results and it says that the endometrium appears heterogeneous and thickened at 22.1mm. I have no idea what this means. the tablets I am on are now not working and I'm back to bleeding with clots.

I'm 31 years old and have two children, 11 and 7. I'm just worried that I'm now waiting 3 months to be seen and wanted to know if this is normal or not my GP has begged the hospital to see me asap and they just won't.

Sorry for the long post I just don't know what to do.

  • Hi there ...

Well I'm gob smacked ... this is happening too often ... even though they tell us two week refural .. if you write to your  M P at the house of commons, they are obliged to look and give you an answer ... I used that once years ago, and they may be able to help ...

I know others there are probly in the same boat and although things are so stretched with the N H S , there is no excuse after them saying you need urgent appointment ... my heart brakes for you .. somethings gotta change ... call McMillan and ask them where you could go, or what to do ... can you afford a private test ... I'm really at a loss ... I feel fustrated for you .. but how come some areas stick to the two week refural and some go way beond ...

Please keep in contact and let us know .. Chrissie x

  • Hi Chrissie

Thank you so much for your reply. I have booked a privet appointment for Tuesday 14/5/2019. I had to phone my doctor's for referral letter and she couldn't believe I have to wait that long.
