On 31st February I had a smear test which came back abnormal. Wasnt told anything more other than to book a colposcopy appointment at the hospital. My colposcopy appointment was on 4th March in which they took 3 punch biopsies, again didnt really tell me anything else, I had no treatment at the time other than the biopsies and she told me I would have results within 5-9 weeks. It will be 11 weeks next week and I still haven't had any results, I've phoned my GP and the department at the hospital who have both said they are awaiting the histology. But I'm beginning to panic, I've had someone at the doctors tell me 'no news is good news' but I've had other people tell me it can take longer due to further testing. I just wondered if anyone else has had to wait as long and what their results were? (Also we have had a recent news report come out about the local hospital saying that the treatment and diagnosis of cancer is below that of national standards for waiting times so this is also adding to the anxiety)
