Immature teratoma

Hi there,

I haven't been on here before. I dont know where to start. I had a hysterectomy a month ago for bleeding and pain I had for years ( I have 2 young children and was happy to have one)

I had a lot of pain at new year and had been admitted to hospital. They found enlarged ovaries and a cyst on my right ovary with a solid component. They said it was nothing to worry about.

Something in my head wasn't right and I opted for a hysterectomy due to the bleeding getting so bad. I had it on April 1st. I got pathology results finally about 10 days ago. The consultant said he removed a stage 1a immature teratoma. He was shocked and so was I no one had any idea, all my bloods for tumor markers etc were fine.

I have just had CT and some more bloods and now waiting to see oncology consultant. I still have one ovary and that's only place I have pain now.

I am just stressing because I haven't been physically well for ages.

I feel a bit silly posting here. Just having the news on a phone call and then nothing is making me worry.i just wanted to speak to other people in similar situation. I hadn't even heard of this before. My original consultant said very rare. Guess I just feel in limbo....

Much love
