Reassurance/ advice needed! Lump in neck

Hi all.

Im a single mum of 3 (youngest is 3). In August I realised I had a pea sized lump on the side of my neck. At the time I had a sore throat so assumed it was a lymph node- although, I My 33 years I’ve never had a lymph node react to illness. I left it, I’m terrible for going to the doctors as I usually come out feeling like I’ve wasted their time. It’s still there though. I went to the gp and saw a lcoum who has referred me for an ultrasound (will be 5 weeks by the time my appointment rolls round!!! Agonising wait)

Its not grown in the 7 months, it doesn’t move, and it doesn’t hurt. Although I’ve noticed recently my neck aches if I get drunk, spurring a headache. I’ve had really itchy legs the last few months, to the point of making myself bleed. No rash. I’ve had excessive thirst. I drink 3 litres a day and I still feel dehydrated. I’m also exhausted. I’ve been falling asleep in the day which is something I don’t do (and I know exhaustion, my husband left me when my youngest was 6 minutes, the day my mum got a terminal diagnosis and I cared for her and my 4 year old brother and my 3 kids until she passed away. This is MORE tired than that!!). I’ve had pain lower down (kidney?! Ovaries?! Who knows!) and also in my upper left hand side. I work out so sometimes think it’s just from that, but it’s quite intense.

i also had the contraceptive implant fitted last June. I bled non stop. It caused anaemia and I was passing out a lot, suffering  from vertigo and seeing stars. I felt awful. Had it out in January and expected to feel better. My periods returned to normal instantly, but I’ve not felt well still. Worried I’ve put symptoms down to the impant that may have been caused by skmtnjgn else.... I’m very much of the ‘I’m fine, I can manage’ mentality, and that might be my downfall.

A lot of these symptoms I didn’t get chance to discuss with the doctor as he whisked me out.

Im not sleeping tjough as I’m so worried!

  • Hi ya ..

Oh my, there's lots going on there, and you need to see G P to see what's causing it all .. there could be lots of different things ... ask for a blood sugar test as drinking lots and still feeling thirsty and tired all the time are things linked to blood sugar ... I'm not medically qualified , but that's just one possibility...

Leaving it , things may only get worse, and it maybe something easily sorted, but you won't know unless you see your Dr... so go on make that appointment ... you need to look after your self for your child .. and remember 8.5 out of ten lumps are fine... let us know how it goes ...
