Waiting to see the paediatrician.

Hi everyone, I have a 3 year old boy who's neck glands have been raised over 2cm for about 6 weeks. He has had some blood tests done, including fbc, esr, lft and crp. The results have come back just showing slight anaemia. He has some night sweats but otherwise seems happy enough. We have been referred to the paediatrician but the appointment isn't until July and I'm obviously worrying. I was just wondering if it was something like lymphoma would the blood results have shown something more? Don't really know what to think and Google has only made it worse! Thanks for reading x

  • Hello nicbrad,

Thank you for posting.  I see that you are worried about some symptoms your son has. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better and the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor. You say he is happy enough so you should try not to put these worries out of your mind and, if there are any changes, contact the doctor.

At the moment it may be too early to tell what his symptoms could be, but I hope the appointment for the paediatrician goes ok.
