Should I still see the consultant?

I found a lump in my left breast a couple of weeks ago and after seeing my gp and getting my letter from the clinic it was a 3 1/2 week wait even though I was fastracked. So I went through Bupa with work and can be seen this Thurs instead of waiting another 2 weeks but will need to pay an excess of £200

The thing is today I've woken up and the lump has got smaller, almost half what it was. So I don't think it's anything to worry about and contemplating cancelling the appointment. Or should I still go?! I can't decide and don't want to waste the doctors valuable time. Thanks for reading x

  • You are not wasting anyone's time, you really must go to the appointment! At the very least you will be reassured it is benign, but they would still monitor. Changes of any kind need to be looked at, the sooner the better. There is no price for peace of mind! But I think you know this having fast-tracked the appointment...you have done exactly the right thing! If you think you might have a wobble between now and then could you commit by asking a friend or relative to drive you and/or attend the appointment with you? Lx
