So upset and confused

So my mum has survived skin cancer twice

Thought the weightloss, tiredness, dizziness and change in bowel was due to stress. Got a blood test and poo sample done

She got the results and was told she would have a 2 week referral for the colonoscopy and she got her letter the other day to say that she would be seeing the consultant at the colonectral surgery.

There was no mention of the camera.

Is this nornal?

Mum has a history of skin cancer and bowel cancer runs in the family.

Mum and me are confused as we were told that she would be having the camera next and now she has a letter to see a Consultant

I'm an other worried daughter .

Any thing to help would be appricated

  • I'm sorry about the worrying time you and your mum are going through at the moment Tinkygal.

If your mum hasn't done so already, it may be best for her to get back in touch with her doctor as they will be in the best position to explain what's going on. You can always give our cancer nurses a quick call about this when the return to work next week. As it's a bank holiday weekend their phone lines will be open again from Tuesday onwards between 9a.m -5 p.m on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation or on the same pathway as your mum will share their experiences with you soon.

    Best wishes to you both,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
