Lump on both sides of groin

Hello all, so yesterday I found a small pea sized lump on the right side of my groin. Of course I immediately panicked but when I found one in the same spot on the other side I assumed it was normal. However since they I of course have been researching and googling to find terrifying results. I am only 15 but found that it is most common in my sort of age, I am so scared. I know I should make a GP appointment but just wondered if anyone could relate or offer reassurance whilst I wait for the appointment? May I also add that I do have health anxiety so I usually freak out about stuff like this but a lump is always concerning. Thanks in advance :)

  • Hi. The worst thing you can do is use Google to self-diagnose . I’ve convinced myself that I’ve had many illnesses and forms of cancer over the years .

You don’t say where on your groin the lumps are  Are they low down, near the crease of you leg etc? I’m not trying to trivialise your fears but I once found a similar sized lump which turned out to be an ingrowing hair.

Please try not to worry too much.  Make a doctors appointment as soon as you can.  They will check you out and allay your fears.

Good luck. Let me know how you get on. X
