Irregular period

Hi there, I am 41 years old and have always had a period which was only 2-3 days maximum. I have now had one for over 2 weeks now and it hasn't stopped. I have booked an appointment with my GP but they cannot see me until next Wednesday. I am worrying after googling it and have also been having pains in my abdomen area for quite some while now. Am not sure whether to push for an emergency appointment as it's a week away and this is really out of character for me Xxx

    Hi Claire I hope you’re okay I was just wondering whether you could phone the doctor first thing in the morning to get on on the day appointment?

    Not to concern you or anything like that but maybe possibly it could be the start of early menopause as my mum was 39 years old. When she started her menopause I hope this helps but sometimes been stress can make your periods last longer also I am try not to worry and see if you can phone the doctor first thing in the morning and get an appointment for the same day x

    Oh bless you thanks for your reply and I am going to. My Mum went through the menopause at 29! So yeah that definitely is a real option too. I lost her last year to cancer and she really was my world. I will call them tomorrow, thankyou for taking the time to reply anyway. I have read your post too, really hope you get some answers.
