Bit of background, I had just had a baby and midwife felt a lump left of my belly button, she remarked I must need a poo..normal after.l childbirth. 4-5 months later I had a UTI which I tried treating with cytitisc sachets unsuccessfully. My pee turned red with blood I got seen by a nurse who felt my stomach and made the same remark about the lump and needing a poo. I remembered this from previously and kept an eye, the lump never went away after bowel movements. I eventually got myself to the GP for something else and mentioned it. He never had a good feel, literally run his hands over my tummy said he couldn't feel it but he would send me for an ultrasound anyway.
Once there for ultrasound I realised that this was only to look at my ovarys, the lump is considerably higher. Whilst there the sonographer asked about previous ovarian surgery and asked if they had removed my ovary along with the dermoid cyst I had in the past, they hadn't, it should be very much still present!
Fast forward a week and I get a fast referral for gynecology then a letter from my GP to say they discovered a cystic swelling (on the opposite side from where I can feel the lump) and he had to refer me for a second opinion. My gynocogygy appointment is a week on Monday and I've just received a letter from the hospital asking me to have the CA125, CEA and AFP bloods before my appointment.
Is there a chance this isn't as bad as it seems? And should I go back about the other lump or just mention it when I see the a gynocologist?
