Weird lump on the skull causing migraines?

For the past 4 months I’ve had a migraine that has gone from mild to severe. I’ve been to the doctors 4/5 times about the migraines, the medicine they give me is barely effective. When given Naproxen the migraine will go for 3-4 hours and then come back with the same amount of severness. We tried sumatriptans but I believe I had an allergic reaction (I struggled to breathe and my glands were swollen). Only recently had I found out the lump, when pressed or touched it causes my migraine to come back or get worse. It’s a hard lump that feels attached to the bone of my skull. My other symptoms include tiredness, lightheaded (even when sat down), i feel very unfit and my bones ache but nothing severe like a growth pain. I’m only 16, so I hope it’s nothing serious like cancer. Thank you if you reply.

  • Hello Daisy1256,

Thank you for posting.  I can appreciate that it must be worrying for you if you don’t feel that your problems are being diagnosed properly.  Unfortunately, we cannot help you get a diagnosis.  Only a doctor can diagnose you.  As you mentioned you have recently found out this lump and that it causes your migraines to intensify when you press on it, I think it would be a good idea to go back to your doctor and show your doctor the lump and the effect you think it might be having on your migraines. Do mention as well the other symptoms you've listed such as the tiredness, light headedness and achy bones. If you feel your doctor is not addressing your concerns, you may want to consider getting a second opinion and you can find out more about this here.

I hope you find the reassurance you need soon.

    Best wishes,
