Worried about mole.

I have quite afew moles on my back none that ever give me any trouble. However due to the warm weather I had on a low top which meant moles were on show. My mother commented on one in particular that has a small white spot. I've never noticed it so it could have always been there. I have extremely anxiety so have worked myself up in a panic and Google doesn't really make it any better.

However it has said that moles should all be the same colour and a change in colour could be a danger. Really panicking now and have taken a pic to inspect properly.

Is this a massive cause for concern? I'm 35 and a single mummy to three little ones I can't get poorly

  • I understand your worry as recently I was in a very similar situation. One of my moles became crusty and few days later it started bleeding. I started googling and almost all articles would say that if you have a bleeding mole it is melanoma. My gp gave me a referral to a dermatologist. I got my mole removed and it was sent for biopsy. I had to wait one month for the results. During this time I was feeling very anxious as I was almost certain that is going to be smth bad. I was really relieved to find out that results came back normal. Just wanted to share this story with you. I wish I didn't worry as much as this whole anxiety deteriorated my overall health.  I would still advise you to check your mole just to be on the safe side but do not panic as this anxiety can make  more harm to you than any physical issue you may or may not have.

  • Hi don't Google its the worst thing ever normally if C It's lumpy you can almost see it growing bigger. If you are worried go to GP let them do thear job just to make sure then you can relax and enjoy the sun. Best wishes.

  • I echo the advice already given, that you should get it checked out by your GP for your peace of mind. In most cases moles that have changed are still OK when they've been checked. The worry you will have if you don't get it checked will far outweigh anything the doctor can say to you! As for Dr Google - it's out of date and it doesn't cover all eventualities, only the most dire, so don't look at it. If you need any further information just look at the trusted websites like this one, Macmillan and the British Association of Dermatologists. Good luck and please let us know how you get on,
